From SpaceX to Hardware VC
On Monday, the Oxford University Rocketry Society hosted Lewis Hong, Founding Partner of FP Solutions, in the Trinity College for a fireside chat.
Takeaways:
- If you want to do the impossible, you have to be 10x everything, even the baristas at SpaceX are 10x baristas
- Prioritise well to get more done
- Hire those better than yourself!
Cool things Lewis did:
- successfully built the world's first rocket factory at SpaceX
- created the highest density battery pack pilot plant
- launched a successful fast casual food franchise
Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to turn innovative ideas into reality, and has a passion for the journey from concept to launch. Lewis holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, as well as an M.B.A. from Oxford University. He always brightens up the room everywhere he goes, always curious to learn from others and share his experiences and I am certainly very happy he is here today.
