I was honoured to be at the Armourers' Hall on Monday as part of the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers.
I was made an alumni of the livery company after receiving the Armourers and Brasiers Company / Rolls-Royce prize for my exams results at the University of Oxford.
The hall was previously a guild for craftsmen of armour and brass. Now it has transitioned into an organisation that supports materials science education, research and the commercialisation of technology among many other activities.
The community boasts influential professors, vice-chancellors of universities, colonels, captains and engineering professionals.
